General Medicine
The Department of Medicine has been functioning in Yenepoya Medical College Hospital since 1999. The Department gets large number of complicated referral cases. Department has state of the art ICU with 17 beds. In order to cater to the extra patients, department has started a 13 bedded well equipped step down ICU. Department manages Casualty and Emergency Medicine. It also runs special clinics such as Geriatric clinic, Diabetes and Endocrinology clinic, Rheumatology clinic, and Hematology clinic. The Department participates in research activities such as clinical trials, clinical research on topics such as scrub typhus, TB Nutrition, Dengue fever and Malaria and also on chronic disease in collaboration with Yenepoya Research Centre.
The Department is ably supported by meritorious faculty, who are distinguished physicians with special interest in Diabetology, Geriatric Medicine, Medical Ethics, Nutrition infectious disease, Hematology and Clinical trial. Department supports centre for clinical trials, centre for nutrition and centre for ethics.
