CSSD

Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) is a service department which caters to the needs for the supply of sterilized material to all the departments of the hospital. The department involves in the activities of receiving, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and distribution of sterilized materials and equipments after conducting bacteriological safe sterilization practice under controlled conditions with proper technical supervision. Autoclave, ETO and Plasma sterilizations are used for sterilizing the equipments.

This unit ensures safe management of decontamination services in the healthcare through safe, efficient, effective and reliable systems. Mechanical, chemical and biological indicators are used to monitor quality. Quality control involves continuous supervision of personnel performance work practices and verification of adherence to established policies and procedures.
