The department of Ophthalmology comprises a cohesive, dynamic and progressive team. It strives for achieving excellence in the fields of patient and community eye care, teaching, research and faculty development. The Department conducts research in basic, applied clinical fields and Community Ophthalmology. It provides accessible, cost-effective, quality eye care. The Department promotes community eye health awareness and actively participates in the National Program for Control of Blindness. The department also conducts awareness programs on issues such as Diabetic retinopathy and eye donation.

The department of Ophthalmology is well equipped for providing 24 hours ophthalmic care, 7 days a week.

Fundus Flouroscien Angiography, HFA (Automated Perimeter) , B- SCAN, UBM, OCT / AS - OCT, Keratometer , A-Scan , Pachymeter , Applanation Tonometer , Evaluation of Binocular vision , Hess Chart, Evaluation of Peadiatric vision
Cataract Surgery including phoco emulsification (Day care services also available) VR, Lacrimal, Glaucoma, Laser procedures, Pterygium surgery.
Ocular Trauma, Glaucoma, Eye bank & Keratoplasty, Phacoemulsification, Oculoplasty, Squint Surgery, Vitreo retinal surgery.
